Welcome to Senda d’Arte — a creative sanctuary in the mountains of northern Spain.
Here, impressive white limestone cliffs offset by stunning blue skies rise above green valleys, rivers carve secret swimming holes, and village life moves at a traditional pace. This is a place where Celtic roots, folk music, and old stories still echo through the hills.
Senda d’Arte is a historic home renovated into a space to house working artists. The quiet rooms, the studios, and landscape have been optimized to capture your creative path.
Whether you meander or set forth with a strong compass, Senda d'Arte will embrace your creativity in tranquility, beauty, and community.
Retreats
Retreats are a highly curated experience centered around learning and refining an art form taught by world renowned instructors coupled with a dive into the cultural and natural environment.
The retreats are structured in accordance to the rural rhythm of Northern Spain. In depth morning studio time is rewarded with the traditional early afternoon meal catered by a local chef. The siesta time immediately following is encourage to for rest and rejuvenation. A variety of local historical sites and hikes are also planned.
Artist in Residency
We invite professional and emerging artists across many disciplines—including painting, ceramics, textiles, dance, music, writing, printmaking, and work on paper—to join our creative community. If you are self‑directed, curious, and respectful, we welcome your application for an several two‑week residencies in 2027.
These residencies are for artists who value both solitude and shared time, with the posibility for collaboration. You’ll live and create alongside a small, supportive group of peers—sharing meals, ideas, and a steady rhythm of work and rest.
An Art House: A Retreat. A Residency.
Arrive in Oviedo, Asturias, Spain via plane, train, bus, or car. There are several buses from Oviedo each day directly to the front door of Senda. Alternatively you may drive. Please send an email for more details if needed.
Pets and family/friends are welcome on a case by case basis. If accepted, there are additional charges.
There are buses from Oviedo several times daily. Also there are taxi services in town. Markets and a hardware store, cafes, bars and restaurants are within walking distance.
A car will give you more freedom, but is not essential.

For the residencies, it is an application process. Please join the waitlist to receive the application, dates, and pricing.
Services add a bit of security while traveling. In town there is a medical clinic and a pharmacy.
As for food and fun, there are several bars and restaurants within walking distance, and three grocery stores.
A gas station, if you rent a car.
A hardware store-very good- as well as, other household goods stores.
For the nearest ART SUPPLY stores, one must travel to Oviedo.
